Meet Scorpion
The following details apply here. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on lipuwx.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game.
The initial seven columns
Keep these points in mind. Three cards remain in the stock. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.
Check rank and suit together
A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades.
Order within a group may vary
Here are the details for this mode. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.
Only Kings fill empty space
Here are the details for this mode. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.
Uncover another choice
Here are the details for this mode. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up.
Use the stock once
A few details help explain this feature. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards.
Complete a suit
The following details apply here. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.
Practice Scorpion decisions
Here are the details for this mode. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
Your separate local record
Here are the details for this mode. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants.
